A couple of runners today at Lingfield, hopefully they will both go well, but trying 1m 5f for the first time, the lads have been putting in their prediction of who will finish in front with Uther Pendragon and Mr Shady in the spotlight.. They are both in the same race but it is that time of year and the race suited them both as we were looking at trying both over an extended trip.
Sadly this week racing on the tips of everyone's tongues as we have all seen, not a very nice episode with Gordon Elliott a very talented trainer, with top owners and horses. What ever possessed him to that? Only he knows, but the powers that be will likely punish him, his career and business will be in turmoil now and losing good horses is a hard knock to take. We all make mistakes but that one takes a bit of figuring out. but whatever the governing body decide on, and we don't know what that will be.... He will surely have learnt a very sore lesson from this. But he is talented and when he gets his head round in the future he has the skills to make it to the top again.
Well in better news we are really looking forward to Cheltenham and have Mr Shady pencilled in to run there all being well and if he gets in. A great meeting, the racing is another calibre, just a shame this year their will be no adoring public to welcome the runners back in. We will all have to enjoy from the comforts of our armchairs but seeing the vaccine getting out there now its bringing the infection rate down and hopefully we will be back to some kind of normality very soon.
As we do every year, we will have the usual tipping with a guest tipster every day. It has come up with some fantastic winners over the years, so something to look forward to in the not so distant future.
We have updated the website this week and are now able to add videos, the one on the home page today is four of the two year olds working this morning. Stan is very very pleased with their progress.
Stans tip is: Single Farm Payment in the 1.15 at Newbury.
The Secretarys tip is: Hasanabad E/W in the 2.30 at Newbury
