A Very Close Call - Uther Pendragon

Pleasing week with the runners we have had, Snooker McCrew: a fine big 2 year old having his first run on Monday at Lingfield was certainly not disgraced running a lovely race finishing nicely at the end, don't think he will be 250-1 next time out. He is sure to have a bright future going forward and will make in to a nice three year old for next year. Raintown ran at Kempton on Wednesday following a break, we hope he can follow up on last years brilliant all weather campaign and certainly looked in similar form probably just needing a run this time. Following on with the good runs this week; Uther Pendragon has to be the unluckiest horse of the week, he ran anther great race, just got collared on the last stride and literally was beaten a nostril!!! What a great servant he has been to owners Wendy & Stuart Jarrett, he is not getting any younger as they say at 8 years old, but he loves his racing and thrives on it.
We had another new comer in this week a late yearling arrival, but one with lot's to like about her. She is an attractive chestnut filly by first season sire River Boyne who was a winner of 9 races from 2-5 years, 5 Group race and 7 Stakes races in total and 4 times Gr.1 placed all on turf so lots to like about her sire. We know her family quite well as she is a half sister to Vaxholm who won three races and placed lots of times for us, from 2 to 3 years old. She looks like a runner, so as they say maybe now is the time to get involved!
Shame to have lost such a lot of racing this week, but is a lot of rain around but then it is December so what can we expect. Thankfully so far down here we have missed the snow thus far! We have got quite a few entries next week, way horses are running be great to get a winner in there somewhere.
Hopefully we keep some of the good racing this weekend.
