Not a Bad Week At The Office as They Say
Although not had a winner yet this week we saw a couple of nice surprises with our runners, none less than yesterdays runner having his second outing at Newbury; Call Time relished the very tough conditions, sluicing through the heavy ground to finish third. Owners and Trainer were very pleased and we hope they go on to have a lot of fun with him. He is a very good looking Son of Soldier's Call and the stallion has had a cracking start to his first season lets hope this lad can increase the winners tally. Would have to give a mention to Hieloray who ran last Saturday at Bath, what a blinding run from him finishing a somewhat unlucky 2nd after bowling along in front and just finding one a bit too good on this occasion. He too is by a first season sire who is enjoying a lot of success; Phoenix of Spain, he wouldn't be unlike him to look at either so lets hope he is half as good! Also running in to a place yet again was tough little cookie; Birkie Boy. What a great deal of fun he has given us so far this season, he might be small but his heart is as big as a lion, he ran in a nice enough race at Lingfield and finished 3rd, PRETTY SURE HE 'WILL' GET IN THE WINNERS ENCLOSURE SOON, its certainly not eluding him from a lack of trying.
Would be amazing if we could finish the week on a winner with Go Your Own Way this evening who is seeking a double. Can't believe the price he is at the moment of 10-1 looked generous so fingers crossed for his owner Caroline Instone as would be marvellous for her if he could do it again at Wolverhampton at 7.30pm. We said goodbye to Miss American Pie this week and she heads off to pastures new as a brood mare. We wish all her new connections the best of luck with her, she is a lovely filly and should produce some nice offspring. We have now got our second yearling colt in, he is a massive big horse, looks like a big 2 year old already! By the Stallion Massaat who we have already had success with this year with Queues Likely. Could be a nice one he sure stamps them well.
Wouldn't be ruling out a winner next week with some interesting ones pencilled in. Queues Likely is in great form and has a couple of entries, Touching Hands could have her first outing of the year, she is by first season sire New Bay and has been a slow burner but one Stan thinks worth waiting for. Easy Equation is in at Southwell, a course he loves, needed the run last time after a break so could give us a nice run this time. Toward the end of the week we have pencilled in Uther Pendragon, Go Your Own Way and Hieloray..... All of them in great form.
We have had some of the heaviest rain this week and we have been under deluge, so glad to see a bit of sun today, we are grateful for it. Lots of racing this weekend and think everyone will be under same pressure on the turf with the rain making conditions underfoot very soft everywhere. Hoping everyone has a good weekend and the sun stays shining.
Stan's tip today is: Western E/W in the 3.40 at The Curragh
The Secretary's tip is: Monterosa E/W in the 1.40 at Newmarket
