At the DOUBLE!

At the DOUBLE!

What a cracking week of racing we have had, started on Monday with Havana Goldrush running a blinder at Bath, he's a quirky character and decided he did object to the eventual winner going past him, he finished a close 2nd. Only beaten a short distance it was a very good run. Probably came a bit to quick for him on Thursday where he ran a bit flat so give him a few days to get his energy levels peaking.

The highlight of the week has to be on Wednesday where Wendy and Stuart Jarrett had A DOUBLE! First with Alainn Tu who is co-owned with Mrs T Burns from Rathasker Stud. It has  to be noted from her last five runs she has been 3rd once, 2nd twice and finally on Wednesday won in nice style, easing down at the line. Very well deserved as she has been trying consistently! It is a special moment for Wendy and Stuart as they owned her Dam Debutante's Ball, when she retired Rathasker Stud took her on as a brood mare and Alainn Tu is her first offspring. The Moore The Merrier Syndicate own her half brother Silva Debut so will be fun to follow him this year. The second winner of the day was Fact or Fable, a favourite of anyone who visits the yard, he is a striking dapple grey and like his half brother Uther Pendragon, sometimes has his own ideas of how he is going to run his race. Thankfully Wednesday was a going day and he ran a determined race to win at Brighton giving Wendy & Stuart a well earned double on the day. We ran Raintown at Goodwood yesterday, it was his first run on the turf, he ran very green and was actually finding his feet at the end. Will likely step him up in trip but still quite pleased as he wasn't beaten that far in a very hot race.

We only have one runner this weekend; Mirabello Bay who has already won two of his three races this year. He is coming of a 50 day break but he has grown and strengthened over the winter and is a fine looking horse. He is in very good form and has encountered soft ground in October last year where he was only beaten a length and a head, so the ground shouldn't be a problem. He could run well at nice odds! At the moment we only have Uther Pendragon and Alainn Tu entered to run on Tuesday of next week. Wouldn't be a surprise to see either of them run well again. Uther Pendragon remains a very capable horse as he proved in December last year at the ripe old age of 7 winning 3 races in A WEEK!

Guineas weekend and Stan thinks Little Big Bear will win the Guineas and The Secretary thought Chaldean would have a good E/W chance.

The rain in the south has come in its droves again overnight and today. Ground could be pretty sticky and heavy in places so could throw up some interesting results.

Stan's tip is: Equilateral E/W in the 4.00 at Newmarket

The Secretary's tip is: Jimi Hendrix E/W in the 3.25 at Newmarket
