A Sad Week At Berkeley House Stables
Its been a very sad week at Berkeley House Stables as we lost our dear friend and long time owner Kieron Badger on Monday night. We enjoyed many great times, had a lot of winners together both in France and the UK, most recently with his horse Raintown who won three on the bounce in November and December last year. Leaving his devastated partner Caroline behind, they had been in a bit of competition with her good horse Mirabello Bay having won four races and was also trying for a three timer earlier this year. We all had great times and fond memories, he will be sadly missed by all who knew him, RIP Kieron.
Looking back on Good Friday, what a great run from The Wizard Of Eye finishing 3rd in the 1m All Weather Championship race at Newcastle, looking like he might of nicked it. He was in need of the race and will strip fitter next time for sure. We were absolutely delighted with Uther Pendragon who ran at Bath in a big handicap, he ran a blinder also finishing 3rd and all the team and his owners The Jarett's were delighted.
We were open to the public on Good Friday and had a strong steady flow of people visiting us and think overall the day was very successful as crowds in the afternoon were huge. Would like to thank everyone who came and made the tour to Upper Lambourn, was lovely to see everyone and hope all had a lovely day.
Aintree has thrown ups some big priced winners so far this meeting, The Grand National today, lets hope all get round safely and with the ground being so heavy, could spring a big surprise with the winner. Good luck to all.
Great racing, sure to see some big priced winners today.
