The Heat Continues, Meaning VERY EARLY STARTS
A very hot week in Lambourn as the heat prevails, the horses have been getting out very early at 5am to keep them cool and comfortable so staff have had some very early starts. Forecast is for rain early next week so the ground and wildlife will be thankful for that for sure. We certainly need a bit for the greenery as it is lacking and we are now in a confirmed drought area. Though for the sun worshippers amongst us the sun has been not too bad at all.
Looking forward to the big York meeting next week, we don't have any runners but always superb racing on offer so will be watching and enjoying. This week we kicked off the week with Fact of Fable on Monday at Wolverhampton, a really quirky character, very much like his half brother Uther Pendragon. This week was a going week and he ran a great race finishing 2nd, he does generally always run his race and hope he can get his head in front again soon. Footsteps had her first run at Kempton on Wednesday, the horses in it looked classy and she is sure to come on with the benefit of the first experience under her belt. Mirabello Bay had his first run in a handicap at Ffos Las on Thursday and ran a nice enough race, looking like he will need to go up in trip again, but sure there will be some races to win with him in the future.
Two runners today first one is at Newbury we run Wonder Elmossman; he should run a nice race its a competitive heat but he is in great form, so would be great for him to make the frame. Tonight we run Vaxholm at Wolverhampton in the 8.20 race he's been a bit out of form but has won at Wolverhampton before so would be good to see him with his head back in front. He has won for a female jockey before so wishing Georgie Dobie the best of luck.
We have a fair few entered next week would hope that more than a couple had a squeak at the win, so fingers crossed. In the blog photo this week are our new additions to the Moore family, getting prepared for Breakfast Duty!
Great racing this weekend looking forward to it.
