Exciting Weekend of Racing
Looks to be an exciting weekend of racing here and in Ireland interesting to see how both of the guineas races unfurls at Newmarket. We have a few runners over the weekend, Mr Shady and Wholelotafun run today at Goodwood, hope they can both put up a decent show. Mr Shady is being tried over 2 miles on the flat for the first time, will go well if he stays. Wholelotafun is in good form he hasn't ran for a while and its the first time over this trip on the grass. We run Uther Pendragon at Bath on Monday he loves it there and is versatile ground wise so he could go close, Madame Mango is a first time out 2 year old she lines up there as well she's by Kodiac and goes ok at home. Friendly Princess is our third runner Monday at Bath, a lovely filly hope she can put up a good performance.
We ran Already Gone (a 2 year old by Zoffany) yesterday at Goodwood first time out, he ran a nice race getting the hang of things late on he will be a very nice horse when stepped up in trip. Papas Girl ran at Chepstow yesterday, she is a nice filly but she didn't act on the track.
Stan was at the Newmarket Breeze Up Sale yesterday, he said that as usual the ones you liked went for plenty of money so sadly he came home empty handed.
In the 2 classics this weekend Stan thinks Mustasaabeq has a good chance today in the 2000 Guineas for Charlie Hills supplemented in they must fancy his chances a little and in the 1000 guineas on Sunday Stan thinks Jane Chappell Hyams horse Saffron Beach might have a squeak.
Stans tip is: Queens Sargeant E/W in the 2.40 at Thirsk
The Secretarys tip is overseas and she tips Jibber Jabber E/W in the 2.10am race at Santa Anita on Sunday
